Midnight Snack and a Heart Attack

Deep in the rural parts of Texas there lives mythical creatures people believe to be myths. Depending on where you live you might have a specific creature, and some areas might have a combination. Those areas are abandoned or have next to no one living there as a result of these creatures heavily occupying the areas. Despite them threatening the numbers of people in the areas they live in. people just considered them to be a myth because they haven't seen them before. However, they never considered that these elusive beings have killed off any witnesses before they can report their findings to anyone that can help them. The names of these creatures are “Brood”, “Deer Boy”, and “Lycan Lurker”. For the sake of your time you’ll only be hearing about Broods today.

Towards the suburb areas where nature has been heavily deforested to make room for urban life. There lives owl-headed ladies that have the head of an owl, but they can change their bodies into pretty female’s bodies. They wait until late into the evening/ night time to stalk the streets for any activity. They especially like to live near frat houses or bars where nightlife takes place. Typically it would be hard to lure a man into the woods and peck their head off if you have the head of an animal, but Broods have gotten more clever over the years. That's why they stalk places where humans are prowling around at night and typically under some kind of substance to not notice the difference in their appearance . They especially go after men with bad intentions or they sniff out the men that already have partners that go after pretty ladies (I’d like to clarify they only go for men 25 and up. They avoid younger men who still have a chance to mature and not do stuff that’ll anger them) . Once the owl shifts their bodies and puts on a clever disguise. They strut their stuff over to men and catch their attention. If the men are in groups then broods typically form pairs or move in threes to secure their prey. These creatures are strong and clever enough to handle up to 7-8 men at once. When they have the men entranced by them they lure them into the woods, get them separated, and then have their feast.

Men in the city have obviously become aware of the threat of this myth and the accounts of missing people do intimidate them. Without any evidence of their existence they can only rely on certain tells to know when they’re in danger. If the place you frequent starts showing signs of midnight blue feathers, you start hearing owl noises, or a woman approaches you, but refuses to come into the light to see you/ their voices don’t sound entirely human. There is a good chance you’re the next target and you need to get to a police station or board up somewhere before you get snatched up. Also another way to avoid these creatures is to generally not prey on women or cheat on your spouses. They are mythical creatures after all so their hunger is their decision, they don't actually get hungry.

Other than that these creatures are celebrated by women and shrines are built to honor them for saving them from corrupt people. They're not entirely safe either though as the Lycan Lurkers are the male dog version of the Broods. So in an attempt to keep the balance and the peace in this land protected. These cryptids lurk in the shadows and watch over the humans together to make sure the spread of lust and dark intent is kept in check.

When they’re not keeping an eye on the humans they’re most likely frollicking in the woods and minding their business. They derive a lot of their energy and power from the forest, or what's left of it after humans have desecrated sacred lands.
