Story about a lonely Urchin

Down at the Barnacle Harbor you can find West Seas Lighthouse, The Chummy Clam (bait and tackle shop), Barnacle Boats, The Whisky Whale, and many more establishments in this small town by the sea. There isn’t much to do here besides see pretty ladies or grab a beer at the pub. So, people often move away or make due with what they have. To some this meant fulfilling a niche in the community so their livelihoods stay afloat to support their families.

Ferdinand Fisher, a businessman and family man who often spends his time at sea finally hung up his boots to create a family business. He knew the community needed something to bring in new faces while fulfilling a niche someone hasn’t tried yet. So, he opened The Chummy Clam during the early development of this town and still runs it today. It is a bait and tackle shop combined with a gift shop, offers some ‘unique’ dishes of his own family recipes, and so on. He did a lot in his day when the shop started advertising and successfully brought customers to this small town. However, as the tides of time slowly eroded the foundations of his success. The motivation he had to keep up with everything by himself broke down. He made a family, got old and injured from strenuous work, and now shares the shop work with his son.

Porcy, or ‘Porcelain’, spent his days either helping his dad or playing outside with his friends. He didn’t get to see his mother much because she ended up leaving them after Ferrdinand got injured. Porcy worried endlessly for his father due to his declining condition, but that didn’t stop them from having a good time. When Ferdinand was feeling well enough they’d go outside to play games together, watched tv together, and always shared their meals together. Unfortunately, as time went on Porcelain’s friends moved away or he lost contact with them since people his age went off to do big things in the world.

Porcelain couldn’t leave the town since he needed to take care of his dad. There wasn’t a reliable retirement home to bring his father to, and Ferdinand is Porcy’s only real loved one left. So, he had to make due just like his father did, but in his own way. After years of experience fishing, learning about boats in his free time, and his young innovative mind coming up with new ideas. Porcelain opened up a boat touring business with his father’s old boat. He added his own pizazz to the adventure to hopefully reel new clients into the town just like his father did, and he was successful for a time.

His business stayed afloat for a while until his father died, and through unforeseen events his business started failing. Stress came flooding in as he had to manage his business and his dad’s shop all by himself. At his weakest moment he made a tragic accident of pushing someone into the waters when he was doing a one-on-one trip with someone. In a panic he fished their body out and eventually made them into chum.

The waters of his success and the town’s reputation was tainted, but not until after he rode on the few years of success after his first murder. He found success in boating people out to sea, robbing them, using them as chum to get fish to sell, and then eventually got caught by the coastal guard during his final trip.

Nobody swam in the murky ocean by Seagull Town ever again.
